Mark Gatlin is a talented Telegram Singer (how’s that for a novel occupation?). He’s funny and I love his deep booming voice. Just watching this video cheers me up.

hi,just a quick question.since many of the earrings i’ve purchased are sterling silver,do i need to purchase a special cloth for keeping the silver gleaming like new? I had one but passed it on to my daughter, now i need one.

Hi Donna,

Yes, that would help. Sterling silver will tarnish over time. What we buy are disposable silver wipes. We find that each one lasts a long time; you can pretty much use it until the entire surface is black. Bed Bath and Beyond has a good selection.

Helping out with a good cause http://site.jcearrings.com/blog/2010/06/18/helping-out-with-a-good-cause/ http://site.jcearrings.com/blog/2010/06/18/helping-out-with-a-good-cause/#comments Fri, 18 Jun 2010 20:26:44 +0000 Administrator http://site.jcearrings.com/blog/?p=130 It’s no secret to anyone who knows us that we love Fiverr.com. I found this Fiverr gig a few days ago. Seems a writer in Arizona (who goes by the moniker hippygeek) adopted a stray momma cat and her two kittens. By way of Fiverr, she’s putting together a fund to get them neutered.

We’re all about helping cats here, and we are proud sponsors of the Nine Lives Foundation, so we bought this gig.

This is what it looked like before the rush.

Met lots of nice and interesting people! With 3,000 people attending, there’s something for everyone. The folks to the left of us were giving away paper bag hand puppets.

Here now: Niobium ear wires http://site.jcearrings.com/blog/2010/05/16/here-soon-niobium-ear-wires/ http://site.jcearrings.com/blog/2010/05/16/here-soon-niobium-ear-wires/#comments Sun, 16 May 2010 16:18:52 +0000 Administrator http://site.jcearrings.com/blog/?p=121 We have a great selection of niobium earrings already, but Jody Coyote makes them with sterling silver ear wires. Niobium’s prime assets are that 1) it is nickel-free and thus safe for allergy sufferers, and 2) when anodized it turns into beautiful, vibrant colors.

We’ve sourced a stock of niobium ear wires, so starting June 1 many of your favorite Jody Coyote designs will be available with niobium French ear hooks/wires. Available colors are blue, purple, green, teal, pink and yellow.

We had an opportunity to do so recently. Here’s what the palmist came up with:

You have soft, delicate skin with some significant lines on the fingers and a large thumb. This indicates that you have a strong heart, a lot of integrity and strong grit. You don’t mind getting your hands dirty when you need to, and you are very reliable and hardworking. You have many people among your immediate family and friends that know you’re the most trustworthy person if things are difficult or require extra attention.

Your life line is the curved line that goes around your thumb. Yours is deep and somewhat short, and is a good distance away from your thumb. Despite popular belief, a short life line does not indicate the length of your life, but rather your commitment to your life’s goals and your general approach to achieving them. Your life line indicates that you are self-directed and determined. You have a clear idea of what you want out of life and you work hard to get it. The distance from your thumb indicates that you are interested in discovering the meaning of life. You are concerned with life’s hardest questions and you are willing to travel to find answers to them.

Your head line is the horizontal line that goes across your palm. Yours is long and straight, and deeply connected with your life line at its start. This indicates that you are a straightforward thinker, highly rational and interested in solving problems pragmatically. You also experienced some difficulties in childhood/adolescence that made it somewhat difficult to assert your independence. As you’ve grown, though, you’ve been able to navigate this more effectively.

Your heart line is the horizontal line that goes across your palm closest to your fingers. Your line is deep and chained. You have a deep emotional attachment to people, but your somewhat tough exterior can sometimes prevent people from understanding how delicate and sensitive you are. You are very attune to others feelings but don’t baby others if you feel they need to be acting more maturely. You are a kind and fair lover, and are capable of a great partnership if you learn to be vulnerable when necessary.

A simpler time http://site.jcearrings.com/blog/2010/05/03/test-posting/ http://site.jcearrings.com/blog/2010/05/03/test-posting/#comments Mon, 03 May 2010 18:33:23 +0000 Administrator http://site.jcearrings.com/blog/?p=106 reetings! You might be wondering why the big initial G.

I found this in a book of historical alphabets. It’s called Jugendstil, and it was produced in Germany in the early 1900’s. The originals were probably woodcuts which were carved by hand. I like the simple emphasis on home, cottage, nature and hearth. Industrialization was getting into high gear in Europe at that time, and the Jugendstil movement reflected a longing to return to simpler times.

Back then when you had a friend it was a person you had actually met, not someone who pushed a button on your Facebook page. Some of your friends were probably neighbors.

In the rush to connect, it sometimes seems real connections have been lost.
